Our Leadership
Team
Here are our Leadership Team
that serve and lead us...
Paul
and Yvonne Ras were both born in Zimbabwe. Although
Paul's parents lived in Salisbury (Harare), every possible
opportunity was spent in the African bush visiting relatives'
farms and ranches. Despite his love for the outdoors, he knew
from the age of six that he was called to the ministry, and
that meant people and not trees! From the outset, Yvonne was
a dedicated city girl, and she has retained her love of the
bright lights and city skylines.
They were married in 1966
and after three years of equipping in the USA they entered
the pastorate in 1977. At the end of 1989 they moved to the
UK and spent the following year working with the Community
Church in Southampton. At the beginning of 1991 they assumed
pastoral oversight of the Isle of Wight Christian Fellowship.
They simply desire to see
the reality of God's power and to experience His manifest
presence. Their honest belief is that there is a dimension
of God, which the Church has not yet fully stepped into. This
they keep looking and believing for.
Steve
and Claire Doggett met in Cambridge in 1982 and
moved to the Isle of Wight 10 years later. At present Steve
is senior partner at Grove House Surgery and Claire teaches
at Carisbrooke High School . They have 4 children aged 19
to 13. Their main role at VLC is training and equipping with
a particular emphasis on young people. Steve travels regularly
to India to equip church leaders.
Mike
and Karen Conolly have
been maried for twelve years and have two sons Luke who is
eleven and Charlie who is seven. Mike became a member of the
Church in nineteen nintey three with Karen following two years
later after they were married in April of ninety five. Having
come down from Glasgow Mike left behind a history of drug
addiction, Gangs, prison and long spells in Psychiatric hospitals.
Becoming a Christian in nineteen eighty eight Jesus led him
step by step out of drug addiction and mental illness. Karen
is a resident of the Island having been born here. Before
becoming a Christian she did what most young people did, drinking
clubbing and trying to have a good time. But life still felt
empty no matter how many friends she had or how good a time
she seemed to be having. In nineteen eighty nine Karen visited
some friends who had become Christians. They shared the good
news of the Gospel with her and she became a Christian herself
that night. Again step by step and still continuing as with
Mike Jesus leads her evermore to freedom in Him. Karen is
now a Teaching assistant at a local school in Newport and
Mike is employed by the church.
Peter
and Sarah Rudd have attended Victorious Life Church
since their marriage in 1990. They are responsible for the
management of finances within the church, Peter is also chair
of the trustees of the church's charitable trust. They also
lead one of the inter-generational life groups. Peter is currently
leading on the search for our own church premises. They have
two children, Nick and Abi. Peter is Assistant Principal Finance
at Portsmouth 6th Form College and Sarah works in administration
at a local school.
