Victorious Life Children's Church

We believe that even the youngest children can grasp the basic truth about God. So our time with the children is all about helping them to relate what is in the bible to today's world. We don't want them to simply learn it, we want them to live it!

Victorious Life Children' Church is divided into several different age groups. Age limits are a rough guide only. More than anything we want the children to enjoy their time at church, in an environment that helps them feel secure, happy and loved.

The children are in the main service for about the first 20 mins. We then go into the dining area for a drink and a biscuit. At 11am we divide into our groups. We meet up again around 11.50am for about 10 mins of singing. After this we provide a sandwich lunch for any of the children who would like one. We are all done by 12.15pm.

Mini Miracles, usually shortened to minis is our crèche/toddler age group. We meet in a room with a door adjoining the main hall. Children are welcome from the age of 6 months. Mostly we just have lots of toys and lots of fun.

 

 

Minor Miracles, affectionately known as Minors, are aged from 2½ to 5yrs. Generally the criteria for being in this group is that they are happy to join in the activities. We aim to help these children have an idea of who God is, who Jesus is and who we are (or our response to God). We do plan in time for the children to talk, have a story, play games, do an activity and pray together. However we are very laid back about the whole thing and if on the day the children want to play more than anything else they can. Minors do spend some of their time in the minis room so they can all join in together.

 

Our Kingdom Kids are aged from 5 to 9yrs. Our aim is to increase their understanding of who God is, who Jesus is and who we are, as well as introducing the Holy Spirit. There's no stopping this group. Their time is jam packed full of chat, games, activities, experiments, stories, bible reading, prayers, in fact just about anything you can think of cramming into 50 mins.

 

2KC happens on the forth Sunday of each month. It is basically a mixture between a kids club and Kingdom Kids, hence the name: 2 "k's" for Kingdom Kids and 1 "c" for Club. It is open to any child aged between 3 and 9yrs, as long as they will be happy and can join in the activities. We meet at the church centre, 143a High St, Newport, starting at 10.30am and finishing at 12pm.

2KC has only been running this year but already we have had some great times. We started last Christmas with a mystery walk ending up at a stable. Since then we have played some mad games, cooked, been detectives, enjoyed a "heavenly" experience and for harvest we went to a farm. There are lots more activities planned for the rest of this year including something a bit special for Christmas (hopefully) .
